A man Gbenga Obaleye, has cried out to the Ogun State Police Command to assist in the rescue of some members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God who were allegedly kidnapped by some gunmen at Kara, the boundary area of Lagos and Ogun on the Lagos-Ibadan Express in the early hours of Tuesday.
The man, Obaleye said some people who he described as “Fulani” had come out shooting and forcing many to abandon their vehicles and other valuables.
He said by the time some of those who ran for their lives returned, the gunmen had made way with valuables like laptops, phones and other items.
“This is not spoiling any tribe. My member in my church were coming from camp this morning at 5:30am. The Fulanis came out from the KARA where they use to sell cows. 20 people has(sic) been taken into the bush, that little bush. My members left the car and ran back, shooting ,they came back all money, laptop ATM has been taken, the phone they stole we used now to locate where they are as at 7am,pls police in Ogun axis please help us not to disturb people in that area, truly they are all over I can’t believe this.
Obaleye shared a Google location map which he claimed indicated the location of the phone belonging to one of those taken away into the bush by the attackers as at 7:19am
As at press time, the NPO Reports could not independently verify the veracity of his claims.
Attempts to confirm the development from the police command Ogun state had been unsuccessful as at press time.
A message sent to Abimbola Oyeyemi, Command’s Public Relations Officer had not been responded to as at press time.
