A middle-aged man, Amadin William, has allegedly hacked his childhood friend to death in Edo State.
The incident reportedly occured at Oben village, the hometown of the suspect and deceased victim simply identified as Didi.
According to posts shared on X on Sunday, Didi had arrived at the village from abroad to spend Christmas with his family.
Following his arrival, he was reportedly lured into a nearby bush by Amadin who machete him to death over a reason yet to be disclosed.
In the wake of the incident, the suspect also known as Old Soldier fled Oben village.
He was eventually arrested in Benin City where he had sought refuge.
Meanwhile, the incident is yet to be confirmed by the Edo State Police Command as at the time of filing this report.
