A yet-to-be identified man has lamented over the abandonment of 200,000 ponds capacity fish farm in Bayelsa State.
As captured in a video shared on X on Thursday, the vast fish farm reportedly located at Sagbama Local Government Area of the state contained several empty ponds.
Also present in the farm is man-made lake and residential apartment for workers.
The farm, according to the man, and generate millions for the state and also provide job employment for over 1000 Bayelsa youths if revived.
He further disclosed that the farm can contain not less than 100,000 fishes.
“You see am? Just look what this is in Sagbama, Tororuwa. Over 200,000 capacity catfish farm is not functioning. What is happening? This is something that can generate millions every month to the state. If this farm starts functioning, at least not less than 1,000 youths will get employment.
“Those in the cold room sef wey go dey kill fish go pass 200. This is fish farm in Tororuwa. Look at 10,000 capacity fish farm is not functioning.
“This can create a lot of job employment for Bayelsa youths.
“This place can contain nothing less that 100,000 fishes.” The aggrieved man said.
