Manchester United has added to the woes of its struggling neighbour Manchester City following 2-1 away victory on Sunday.
The Red Devils had travelled to the Ethiad Stadium for another Premier League Manchester derby against embattled Pep Guardiola.
Coming off UEFA Champions League defeat to Juventus over the week, Manchester City hoped to find solace at their home turf against United and find their back to winning ways in Premier League.
Josko Gvardiol gave the Cityzens a blight of hope as his 36th minute header put the host in the lead.
Manchester City held on to the lead as they kept United at bay until the 88th minute when Matheus Nunes toppled United’s wonder kid, Amad Diallo, in the penalty box.
Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, stepped in to convert the penalty kick, sending Ederson Moraes the wrong way to bring the game to 1-1 level.
With two minutes before regular time, Manchester United’s defender, Lisandro Martinez, pulled a last minute stunt as he created a goal scoring opportunity for Amad Diallo who slotted it past Manchester City’s goalkeeper to steal all three points for the Red Devils.
The game ended 2-1 in favour of Manchester United as City dropped to fifth position on the Premier League table.
With 27 points across 16 games, Manchester City are nine points away from the Premier League table topper, Liverpool.
