Manchester City continues their Premier League title defense on a higher note as they cruise past newcomers, Ipswich Town, in 4-1 win at the Ethiad Stadium today.
Pep Guardiola’s side humbled the Tractor Boys to secure back-to-back win in the 2024/2025 English Premier League campaign.
Few minutes into the game, Ipswich Town had shocked the Cityzens after Sammie Szmodics put them into an early lead in the 7th minute.
Their lead would, however, be short-lived, as Savinho was toppled in the visitor’s box by Ipswich Town’s defender, gifting Man City a penalty in the 12th minute which was converted by Erling Haaland
Man City’s midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, would put the home team into the lead two minutes after as he latched on a defensive blunder from Ipswich Town’s goalkeeper, Arijaner Muric.
It took just another four minutes for Man City to double their lead through Erling Haaland bringing the game to 3-1 before the end of halftime.
Pep Guardiola’s side continued their dominance in the second half but failed to find the back of the net.
Towards the end of the game, Erling Haaland pulled a stuner to score his first hat trick of the season and seal City’s 4-1 win against Ipswich Town.
