Many passengers have been injured following heads-on collision between two trains along the Abuja-Kaduna railway corridor.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday when an Abuja-bound train crashed into another train plying the track.
Video shared on X showed the damaged sections of both trains.
An X user, Sada Malumfashi, who claimed to be on train. disclosed hearing a loud bang with the train jolting to a stop.
The impact, according to Malumfashi, left many passengers flung from their seats with, any sustaining severed injuries in the process.
He however claimed that the train resumed back to operation after 30 minutes of with no communication from the NRC.
“Just dropped from the Kaduna-Abuja train.
“We heard a loud bang and the train jolted to a stop flinging people across. Passengers got hit and most are bleeding and severely injured.
“Train delayed for some 30 minutes and resumed to Kubwa. No communication from @info_NRC on anything” Malumfashi said.
Meanwhile, the number of passengers injured is yet to be ascertained with official confirmation of the incident also yet to be issued by the Nigerian Railway Corporation.
