Mojisola Meranda, has been re-elected and sworn-in as the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly following his resignation as the Speaker.
NPO earlier reported the resignation of the lawmaker representing Apapa Constituency 1 following the return of ousted Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.
Moments after Obasa’s re-election and swearing-in, Meranda was also re-elected as the Deputy Speaker by the members of the legislative house.
As captured in a post shared on X, the former Speaker to the oath of office as Deputy Speaker.
Obasa’s return was borne of the crisis which met the Assembly following his impeachment in January.
The lawmaker representing Agege Constituency 1 had rejected his impeachment as he maintained that he remained the legitimate Speaker of the House.
