A group of frustrated and angry mob has on Monday night stormed the corporate office of CryptoBridge eXhange (CBEX) in Ibadan, Oyo state, carting away valuables after the cryptocurrency digital trading platform crashed.
Several Nigerians who have invested in the platform were yesterday thrown into despair as they recounted their financial losses on several posts on social media.
The development revived the memory of the infamous MMM scheme which crashed in 2016, leaving many in bankruptcy having heavily invested in the scheme.
However, in desperate effort to salvage their losses, a group of angry investors stormed CBEX office located at Oke Ado area of Ibadan.
The mob, as captured in a now viral video on X, forced their way into the complex, carting away furniture and office equipment.
According to report, the CBEX platform’s operational model has raised concerns, with allegations of fraud and deceptive practices coming to light.
While it was introduced as a secure and transparent digital asset trading platform, the recent collapse and reports of users losing funds have sparked scrutiny.
