Owodunni Oluwatosin, also known as Primeboy, has dragged the Nigeria Police Force to court, demanding apology for his detention over alleged involvement in the death of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
As captured in a video shared on X on Wednesday, Primeboy arrived at the court’s premises alongside his supporters who were seen with placards demanding apology from the police.
The childhood friend of the late singer, in his address to newsmen, recounted his ordeal during his detention for four months over the death of Mohbad.
He claimed that his life had since been jeopardised on account of the case which he was eventually acquitted from.
“I want the Nigerian Police to say sorry to me because I really went through a lot. I was detained for good four months.
“I came to court today because I sued the Nigerian Police. My life has been stagnant. What they really did to me, if it is somebody else, you won’t see him alive again.
“You can’t just leave the people that known about the matter. You can’t leave them walking freely and you will leave me damaged just like that. No!” Primeboy said.
He further called out the family of the late singer over their reluctance to bury him after almost three years since his death.
“Mohbad has not been buried. I want you guys to know now that Mohbad has not been buried. It’s going to three years now. That is what I suffered for. You can see his brothers, sisters , and family enjoying life.
“Even the public came together an donate money for them to do the right thing. Yet, they spent the money on themselves.
“That guy is still in mortuary. Please Nigerian government, do the right thing. Mohbad family do the right thing.” He added.
NPO Reported that Primeboy had in October 2023 surrendered himself to the Police days after been declared wanted over Mohbad’s death.
The childhood friend of the late singer was alleged to have engaged in a fight with Mohbad moments before his death.
The Investigative Police Officer (IPO)in charge of the case had during the coroner hearing of the case recounted how Mohbad sustained an injury in the course of the fight which occurred after their show on the 10th of September.
He said as Mohbad made to punch Primeboy, the latter dodged it, and his punch hit the glass of a jeep which left him injured.
The police officer claimed that investigation revealed that the wound festered because it was not taken care of as a result of which the Nurse alleged to have administered the anti-tetanus injection which contributed to his death was invited.
Meanwhile, Primeboy would later be released alongside Mohbad’s former boss, Naira Marley, and music promoter, Samson Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry.
The court held that the trio had no case to answer in connection with Mohbad’s death.
