The mother of late Slyvester Oromoni has passed away two years after the death of the12-year-old son Dowen College student who was subjected to alleged maltreatment and bully in the school located in Lekki area of Lagos.
Mrs. Oromoni ‘s death was disclosed on Tuesday in series of post on X, bringing back sad tale of her son’s passing in 2021.
According to report, a family source revealed that her health had deteriorated significantly over time, as the emotional toll of losing her son deeply impacted her well-being.
She had endured immense grief since 2021 when Slyvester’s death became the center of a widely publicized case involving allegations of mistreatment at his school.
Despite receiving medical care and the unwavering support of loved ones, Mrs. Oromoni’s health challenges reportedly became insurmountable.
The famiy disclosed that she passed on November 25, 2024.
Her loss has left the family and supporters in deep mourning, highlighting the enduring pain caused by her son’s untimely passing and their continued pursuit of justice.
Sylvester Oromoni Jnr. reportedly died on November 30, 2021, at a private hospital in Warri, Delta, after alleged health complications at Dowen College, Lagos.
His death raised public uproar after reports disclosed that he was bullied in the school which led to the complications that eventually claimed his life.
After his death, the Lagos State Government shut the school and set up a coroner’s inquest to unravel the circumstances surrounding his death after his parents alleged that the deceased mentioned the names of some of his schoolmates whom he accused of bullying him.
