An international music channel, MTV Base, has stopped the use of any music produced from the stable of Marlian Records owned by Naira Marley. The channel said on Wednesday it was placing a ban on anything related to Naira Marley.
The musical channel joins the growing list of media organisations that have sanctioned Naira Marley since the death of his former signee, Oladimeji Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohab) who died on September 12th.
His death was believed to be tragic outcome of alleged sustained bullying after the artiste called it quit with Marlian Records.
Following the uproar that has trailed his death, a number of radio stations around the country decided to place a “Not to Be Broadcast” (NTTB) ban on all the songs under the Marlian Records Label. Among these are Splash FM, and others.
MTV Base’s decision was announced by popular TV host, Ehizojie Okoeguale aka DadaBoy Ehiz, a staff of the music channel.
He made the announcement on his X handle on Wednesday, September 20, applauding the 24-hour music and general entertainment channel for the move.
He tweeted: “Mtvbase dropped everything Marlian … kudos to dem.”
