Thousands of Muslim faithfuls across the world have gathered at the holy city of Mecca to attend the 2025 Hajj Pilgrim.
As part of the tenets of Islam, it is expected for all Muslims to attend the annual pilgrim at least once in their lifetime.
The 2025 edition appears unexceptional as Saudi Arabia hosts the muslim faithfuls from different part of the world for the religious and spiritual exercise.
With no continents or country exempted from partaking, Nigerians also making the count as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recorded the arrival of 40,052 Nigerian pilgrims airlifted by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) as of Saturday.
However, NAHCON on Sunday disclosed that it airlifted a total of 40,888 Nigerians to participate in this year’s Hajj in a total of 101 flights.
According to data on the airlift operation made available by NAHCON’s Command and Control Centre in Abuja, of the 40,888 Nigerian pilgrims, a total of 36,836 landed at the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah in 93 flights, while 4,049 Nigerians landed at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah in eight flights.
