The Director General of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council Dr. Doyin Okupe has reigned.
Okupe made this known Tuesday evening in a short statement addressed to Obi.
In the statement Okupe said he had tried to seek Justice to clear his name in a money laundering case.
He said he had invested so much in the campaign to allow himself to become a source of distractions.
See the letter below:
Recall that the EFCC had dragged Okupe to court over allegations that he collected a sum of N242m from the office of National Security Adviser in cash.
The funds were believed to be part of the arms funds meant to cater for those fighting the insurgency war.
His wife and son had pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.
He was slammed with two years in jail or an option of fine of N500,000 for each of the 26 count charges against him.
Okupe had a paid a sum of N13m Monday night to avert being sent to Kuje prisons.
