The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is set to partner with the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development to host the first-ever Nigeria International Air Show in 2025.
This was contained in a statement by Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Tuesday in Abuja.
Moshood quoted the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, as saying this when he paid a courtesy visit to Keyamo in his office.
Abubakar said that NAF had been independently planning its own air show before it got to know about the ministry’s similar initiative to organise one in Lagos.
He said that the united approach would significantly enhance the event’s impact and reinforce global appeal.
Moshood also quoted Keyamo who described Abubakar’s foresight as a critical step towards showcasing Nigeria’s aviation and aerospace capabilities to the world.
“The minister said that the synergy between the ministry and the NAF would fast track the achievements of shared objectives.
“To ensure the seamless planning and execution of the event, the duo jointly announced the establishment of an eight-member committee.
“The committee comprises representatives from both the ministry and the NAF, to coordinate all aspects of the Air Show, including logistics, international collaborations, and stakeholders’ engagement.
”The 2025 Nigeria International Air Show is expected to attract global players in aviation and aerospace, including manufacturers, investors, regulators, and enthusiasts,” he said.
He said that the show would be a platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies, fostering partnerships, and exploring opportunities for the advancement of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
“Nigeria is set to create a world-class event that would spotlight the nation’s aviation and aerospace industries to drive economic growth, innovation, and international recognition with the partnership,” he said.
