Kogi State lawmaker, Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has invited Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and other members of the Senate to her constituency for project inauguration.
In what appeared to be an extension of olive branch to the Senate weeks after her return from her six months suspension, Akpoti-Uduaghan wrote to Akpabio to inform and invite members of the red chamber to event slated to hold on Sunday at the Kogi Central Senatorial District which she represents.
As contained in the letter read by Akpabio during the plenary sitting on Thursday, the Kogi lawmaker noted that the project commissioning is organised to mark her second year anniversary in office.
She expressed her readiness to host the Senate President and other lawmakers at her residence in Ihima, Kogi State.
“On Sunday, November 2, I shall mark two years in office in the service of Kogi Central Senatorial District as their Senator in the National Assembly of our nation with the commissioning and flag offs of projects and constituency empowerment.
“This letter therefore serves as a formal invitation to you all to grace and participate in the activities marking my second anniversary in office.
“While I look forward to welcoming you, please accept the assurances of my highest regards.” The letter had partly read.
This had however sparked mixed reactions from the public considering her rift, sexual harassment allegation, and ongoing litigation case against the Senate leader.
Recall that the Senate had in March slammed six months suspension on the Kogi lawmaker following her clash with Akpabio over sitting arrangement.
The mild drama would further escalate as Akpoti-Uduaghan accused the Senate President of intimidation and sexual harassment on national television.
The scandal had sparked outrage among members of the public as calls for Akpabio’s resignation intensified.
Akpoti-Uduaghan would also in her last appearance at her constituency, which was tagged her homecoming, would further accuse Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, of alleged plot to assassinate her.
