Indications have emerged that the National Assembly will convene a special emergency meeting to deliberate on the ongoing fiasco over the redesigned nation’s currency.
NPO Reports gathered from National Assembly sources Friday morning said the meeting is not made public but that members of both the senate and the House of Representatives have been asked to report back on Friday.
The meeting, according to findings, is to address and make their positions known over the ongoing crisis over the redesign of the Naira. Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari gave a fresh order for the re-introduction of the old N200 notes which he said can co-exist with the new N1000 and N500 notes. His decision has been adjudged to be contrary to the order of the supreme court which said all old notes should continue to be legal tender until the determination of the suit before it.
