The Nigerian Naval Headquarters’ Chief of Operations, Rear Admiral Musa Katagum, has died.
Katagum reportedly passed away in Egypt on Thursday after brief illness.
His death would however be confirmed by the Nigerian Navy in a statement issued on Friday.
The force expressed its sadness over the naval chief.
“The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, Admiralty Medal, Officers and Ratings of the Nigerian Navy mourn the demise of the Chief of Opations, Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Musa Bello Katagum.
“May the soul of the senior officer rest in perfect peace.” The statement read.
Katagum had since been laid to rest today in accordance to Islamic rites.
