The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has filed contempt charges and committal proceedings against the Nigerian Police Force over the enforcement of the tinted glass permit policy.
NPO Reported that the Police had on Thursday commenced the enforcement of the policy despite the pending court case over the policy.
In reaction, the NBA in a post on statement on its X handle on Friday disclosed that it has proceeded with contempt and disciplinary proceedings against any officer caught enforcing the policy.
NBA demanded immediate suspension of the enforcement which it considered as disregard to the court.
Attached to the statement was the letter served to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, reminding him of the pending suit over the tinted glass permit.
The association had in the letter issued on Wednesday by its Section on Public Interest and Development Law (SPIDEL) noted that the reminder marked the second time the Police will be served the copy of the originating summon.
