The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has, on Thursday, pledged support for the Nigeria Labour Congress.
This was disclosed by NBA President, Adam Osigwe, in a post on his official X handle.
According to the post, Osigwe made the pledge during a solidarity visit to NBA National Headquarters by NLC President, Joe Ajaero, and other prominent members of the Congress.
Osigwe assured Ajaero of the association’s commitment to the protection of rights and welfare of all citizens as they discussed on issues facing the country- ranging from economic challenges to fundamental human rights.
The post read; “I had the pleasure of receiving the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero and members of his entourage at the NBA National Headquarters during a courtesy and solidarity visit.
“We engaged in meaningful discussions on the rising economic challenges, particularly the increasing inflation and cost of living that continue to burden Nigerians.
“We reiterated that peaceful protest remains a fundamental right in any democracy, and as leaders, it is our responsibility to ensure that these rights are respected and safeguarded.
“The Nigerian Bar Association @NigBarAssoc remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of all citizens.
“We will continue to advocate for policies that promote justice, fairness, and the well-being of the common man.”
