The Nigerian Bar Association’s (NBA) Remuneration Committee has released minimum charge list for litigation cases.
This was disclosed in a post shared on the NBA’s official X handle on Thursday.
The remuneration committee, in a statement attached to the post, listed the minimum fee chargeable by legal practitioners for various litigation cases.
According to the committee, the development is aimed at protecting lawyers from underpricing; promoting professionalism and financial sustainability; and strengthening the legal profession.
It is also aimed at ensuring fair and standardized compensation across the profession.
Meanwhile, the charges, as contained in the statement, varies based on nature of case, lawyer’s level of experience, and state band.
For labour disputes, legal practitioners with nine years’ experience and below are to charge between N200,000 to N400,000- depending on the state band while lawyers with 10 ten years’ experience and above are to charge between N500,000 to N700,000.
On the other hand, securing the service of a Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) for labour dispute now stand between N2 million to N3 million.
