NCDC Announces 13 New COVID-19 Cases in Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 13 new cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 167,155.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Facebook account on Friday.

The agency also said no death was recorded, as the initial death records remained 2,117.

NCDC stated that the new infections were registered across three states in the past 24 hours.

It stated that Delta recorded nine cases while Gombe and Rivers registered two cases respectively.

According to the centre, a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities in the country.

The NCDC said that the number of active COVID-19 cases in the country currently stood at 1,498 in the past 24 hours.

The health agency disclosed that 163,540 cases have been discharged after successful treatment since the beginning of COVID-19.

So far, the country has tested 2,231,409 people since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced a year ago.
