The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 50 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 163,113.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Saturday.
“On the 3rd of April 2021, 50 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.
"Till date, 163,113 cases have been confirmed, 151,853 cases have been discharged and 2,058 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The 50 new cases are reported from 6 states- Lagos(27), Plateau (11), Bayelsa (7), Gombe (3), Nasarawa (1) and Ekiti (1)," it said.
According to the report, 18 more people have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 151,853.
It noted that the country’s active cases stood at 9, 202, in the last 24 hours.
The public health agency said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, had continued to coordinate the national response activities in the country.
NPOreports disclosed that the country had tested 1,767,694 people since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.
