A new video has shown arrested Nigerian nollywood acter Chiwetalu Agu denying support for the Indigenous People of Biafra and the Eastern Security Network.
Agu was arrested by men of the Nigerian Army in Onitsha, Anambra State on Thursday wearing a costume made of the same flag being displayed as part of the symbols of the Biafra agitation.
IPOB has been proscribed.
But a video has surfaced where Agu was being questioned over his motive for wearing an outfit that symbolizes support for a proscribed organization.
The video showed him initially sitting on the floor while he explained that his dress merely carried what he called “rising sun” and not sign of Biafra.
He was being interrogated by about four soldiers.
The video later showed the actor stood up and accompanied to a nearby office in what was obviously within the Army barracks in Onitsha.
Agu has been released.
In another development, Agu’s colleague, Shan George has queried why the actor would deny IPOB and ESN which he was bold to campaign for.
She said in a post on Friday that Agu should own by confirming that his dress was a symbol of Biafra instead of dissociating himself from the organisations.
