The Nigerian Armed Force have raised alarm over fake TikTok accounts allegedly created by fraudsters to deceive unsuspecting Nigerians.
This was contained in a statement issued on the Force’s official X handle on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the fraudsters are impersonating the Nigerian Army to orchestrate recruitment scam and defraud people.
Reaffirming its commitment in protecting the public, the Nigerian Army clarified that it had no TikTok account while urging the public to report any suspcious activity to Force’s toll-free number 193 or through its verified social media handles.
The statement read in part; “The Nigerian Army has uncovered fake social media accounts created by fraudsters to deceive unsuspecting Nigerians, mainly through recruitment scams.
“These scammers have been using fake accounts to defraud people, and while some have been caught, efforts are ongoing to apprehend more. The Nigerian Army is committed to protecting the public from these malicious activities.
“To clarify, the Nigerian Army doesn’t have any official social media accounts on TikTok. If you come across any suspicious activity or requests for funds related to recruitment, report them immediately to the Nigerian Army’s toll-free number 193 or through our four verified social media handles:
