The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Enorch Adeboye, has said that the nation’s security agency, the Police, has among its men murderers.
Adeboye, in his Cross-Over night preaching, said surviving those murderers and other challenges in the Nigerian setting is worth celebrating.
Adeboye’s statement made at the church headquarters along the Lagos Ibadan expressway came few days after another Nigerian lawyer, Mrs. Bolanle Raheem was shot and killed by a policeman, Assistant Superintendent, Vandi Drambi at the Lekki area of Lagos State.
Her killing came just two weeks after another young Nigerian Gafaru was murdered by another policeman from the same Ajiwe police Division in Ajah, Lekki.
There have been many cases of killings and abuses by men of the Police in the past.
“When you say you’re a survivor, let your neighbor know. Ebola came, I survived, Coronavirus came, I survived, kidnappers are out there, I survived, bandits are out out there, I survived, there are murderers wearing police uniforms, I survived. Go ahead, tell three or four people: ‘I am a survivor. Celebrate me,’ Adeboye said to his congregation.
He said it is worthy of it for people who made it to 2023 in Nigeria to ask others to celebrate them saying that the instances that could end lives are too many.
The killing of Mrs. Raheem had sparked outrage across the country. The presidency called for investigations and speedy trial.
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had visited the Police boss, Usman Alkali Baba to demand full investigation and punishment for the killer cop.
