Pleads With Citizens Not to Lose Hope

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has urged Nigerians not to lose hope despite the current hardship facing the country.
Obasanjo stated this while speaking on the life and times of late former US President, Jimmy Carter during an interview on Arise TV’s Morning Show on Monday.
The ex-Nigerian President, in his new year message to the country, expressed optimism in Nigeria, stressing that the country is currently not where God wanted it to be.
He attributed Nigeria’s plight to the advertent and inadvertent actions of its leaders.
Obasanjo, however, held that Nigeria is not a failed country but a plan designed by God to flow with milk and honey.
“I will wish all Nigerians a happy and prosperous new year. I will say to Nigerians that we are going through hardship, but they should never lose hope.
“I am very optimistic about Nigeria. We are a very great country but where we are is not where God want us to be. I believe that sooner than later, we will get to where God want us to be.
“God wants Nigeria to be a land flowing with milk and honey, not a desert, not a basket cave, not a failed country.
“That we are where we are is advertent or inadvertent actions of our leaders. But I believe God has great things for Nigeria in the immediate future.” Obasanjo said.
