Nigerians have been divided in their reactions after Nigerian and Barcelona footballer, Asisat Oshoala aired her view about the #EndSARS campaign.
Oshoala took to Twitter to air her view.
The footballer tweeted: "Nigeria is a jungle! #EndSARS #EndPolice Brutality"
Airtel Nigeria’s Director of Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility, Emeka Oparah, in his reaction said: "Asisat Oshoala calling Nigeria a jungle? Captain of Nigeria’s Women’s National Team??? Wow."
A Facebook user, Ifeoluwa Bidemi Oladipupo, in her attempt to defend Oshoala replied: "I think it might be a mistake....May be she was meant to write 'Nigeria is not a jungle' That tweet doesn't look complete."
Chukwuemeka Eze retorted, "It is only a limited mind with an inferiority complex that leaves the issues and attack the sovereignty of her country!! With all the racial abuse in the 'America of their dream', not even the blacks ever called their country a jungle!! When any of this half educated opportunists leaves this country for a day, they learn foul languages."
Kelechi Deca said: "Jungle and Zoo, which is more polite? I think Zoo is more polite because in a Zoo, at least, animals don't do as they like. Coming from her get as e be. She doesn't have the privilege ordinary folk like us enjoy."
Stephen Ipalibo Lawson, who threw his weight behind Oshoala's view queried: "Is Nigeria not a jungle? Abi are some of us living in another planet that we are blind to the 'jungleness' of Nigeria?"
