Various reactions have trailed the invitation by the wife of the President Mrs. Aisha Buhari to presidential aspirants of all political parties.
Mrs. Buhari has asked presidential aspirants to join her on Saturday April 23 at the presidential villa at 6:30pm for the breaking of fast (iftar).
Specifically stated on the invitation is the instruction to the invitees not to come to the venue of the event with their phones.
Many Nigerians have asked the purpose of the invitation and under what capacity she has issued the invitations?
Prominent presidential aspirants of major political parties include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; former Governor Bola Tinubu, Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, former Governor Peter Obi, Governor Yahaya Bello, former Senate Presidents Ken Nnamani, Pius Anyim, and others.
The reason for the ban on phones were unknown as at press time.
Mrs. Buhari recently returned to the country from her base in the United Arabs Emirate.
Many have critised the invitations and the ban on the use of phones by the invitees.
