The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has unveiled a pre-enrolment portal for the National Identification Number (NIN) registration.
This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the NIMC Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke.
The portal, according to Adegoke, will enable applicants, local or in the Diaspora, to conveniently capture and submit their biodata online before visiting enrolment centres for biometric capture.
Adegoke further described the innovation as part of NIMC’s broader strategy to reduce congestion at enrolment centres as well as a reflection of the unwavering commitment of the Commission’s CEO, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, to strengthen institutional performance through technology-driven solutions.
Key Benefits of the NIMC Pre-Enrolment Portal, as highlighted in the statement, include as highlighted, simplified enrolment through online capture and management of NIN biodata before biometric enrolment; reduction of congestion and waiting time at enrolment centres through appointment scheduling.
Other benefits include improved data accuracy, as applicants directly input their information; secured and confidential handling of user data through enhanced security measures; seamless online upload of required supporting documents; improved overall user experience and service efficiency and increased enrolment accuracy and operational effectiveness.
NIMC urged all prospective NIN applicants to utilise the Pre-Enrolment Portal to enjoy a smoother, faster, and more efficient enrolment process.
The initiative, it maintained, underscored the Commission’s commitment to building and sustaining a reliable digital identity ecosystem in support of national development.
