The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State branch, has intervened in the alleged forgery of breast cancer’s medical report involving businesswoman and social media influencer, Blessing Nkiruka Okoro, popularly known Blessing CEO.
NPO Reported that Blessing CEO had come under public scrutiny days after announcing being diagnosed of breast cancer as she solicited for financial support for an urgent surgery.
Her claim however became a subject of controversy as some netizens doubted the authenticity of her diagnosis.
This would turn into a full-blown scandal following a post by businessman and fellow influencer, Chidi Mike, who accused Blessing CEO of lying to Nigerians as he alleged that the influencer manipulated a real breast cancer patient to send her result which she forged to solicit for financial support.
Chidi leaked the medical report of the social media influencer which he alleged was forged from the report of the real breast cancer patient identified as Mbara Deborah.
He further disclosed that Mbara had filed a lawsuit against Blessing CEO over the alleged forgery.
While the influencer had denied the allegation, the NMA would intervene as it provided clarification between Mbara and Blessing CEO’s medical reports.
The association, in a statement dated April 1, 2026, and signed by its Chairman, Dr Israel I. Adaigho, and Secretary, Dr Usamah E. Hannah, affirmed that the medical report allegedly conducted by Xinus Medical Diagnostics was not issued to Blessing CEO, stating that the document belongs to Mbara.
Recall that NPO Reported discrepancies between the two medical reports with Blessing CEO’s report indicating that Xinus Medical Diagnostics is located in Enugu state while Mbara’s report stated Delta state as the lab’s location.
Reacting to the discrepancy, the NMA said the proprietor of the diagnostic centre confirmed that the facility is located in Asaba, Delta State, and did not issue any report to Blessing Okoro.
It further explained that the test in question was conducted in May 2025 following a request from a doctor at a private hospital in Asaba for a patient identified as Mbara Deborah.
“Xinus Medical Diagnostics was actually contacted in May 2025 by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba to do a confirmatory test on a possible case of breast cancer for his patient, MBARA DEBORAH.
“That the test was done and the result issued to the referring doctor as a case of Breast Cancer on the 9th of May, 2025.” The statement read further.
NMA also clarified the origin of the circulating document, stating that Mbara report currently in circulation is the original version issued by the laboratory.
“That a copy of that result is the one being circulated online by the Law firm- ALLEN JURIS LAW, with the name MBARA DEBORAH as the patient.
“That the result online from the law firm is the original version issued to the patient through her hospital.” The statement added.
The NMA said the clarification became necessary due to how the altered report was being used.
It urged the public to exercise caution while emphasising the importance of maintaining professional integrity and called on relevant authorities to intervene.
“This clarification is deemed necessary in view of what the altered report being paraded by Blessing Okoro is now being used for. The members of the public should therefore be guided accordingly.”
“The integrity of our association and its members is very paramount and should not therefore be taken for granted. We call on the authorities responsible for maintaining law and order to do the needful and save the unsuspecting members of the public from being taken undue advantage of.” The association added.
