The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has barred the placing of mobile phone on airplane mode as it declared that all flight passengers are now required to turn off their phones during both take-off and landing.
This was announced in a post shared on X on Tuesday by the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu.
NPO Reported that Emmanson had last week drawn public attention following the circulation of the video of her physically assaulting an Ibom Air hostess on arrival at the Lagos airport.
The incident would spark public outrage and controversies after she was stripped naked while being dragged out of the aircraft by security personnel.
Emmanson was subsequently arraigned to court and remanded in Kirikiri prison.
Preliminary investigations and eyewitnesses accounts would later reveal that the Ibom Air passenger had clashed with the air hostess over her inability to switch off her phone during take-off at Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state capital.
Following her release and the removal of her lifetime flight ban by the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), Emmanson claimed being embarrassed and provoked by the air hostess while she was struggling to turn off her phone before the airplane taxied.
