No Need for Panic-Buying -NNPC Assures Nigerians

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has assured Nigerians that there is no need for panic-buying as people queued to purchase petrol in large numbers in parts of Abuja on Monday evening and the queue size hightened on Tuesday morning.

NNPC through its Twitter page Tuesday morning said it had enough product that would last the country for about 60 days.

Petroleum trucks had been vandalised by irate youths forcing oil marketers to temporarily suspend the movement of petroleum products which is a development that warranted disruptions in supply.

NNPC's tweet read: “There is no need for panic-buying, rest assured that the NNPC has over two billion litres of Premium Motor Spirit in stock to guarantee steady supply and at least 60-day-product supply sufficiency.”
