Nigerian businessman and socialite, Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, has broken silence over his arrest by the the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
NPO Reported that the EFCC had on Monday night stormed the socialite’s Omole residence in Lagos where he was arrested over alleged currency abuse.
The offense was traced to viral video captured at a recent event where he was seen spraying Dollar and Naira notes on Nigerian singer, Flavour.
His arrest was, however, condemned by netizens and activists who accused the Commission of double standards in its operation.
NPO Report, however, gathered that E- Money had been released on bail on Wednesday.
While the bail amount was undisclosed with the EFCC also not disclosing his arrest, the socialite confirmed his release in a post on his Instagram handle.
He allayed concern over his arrest while appreciating everyone who supported him.
“No Tension. Everywhere good. I see all your love and support. God bless you all ❤️❤️❤️” E-Money wrote.
