NSCDC Nabs Six Suspected Electricity Cable Vandals in Kano

According to Idris-Abdullahi, the suspects were arrested at Hayin Da’e, Hotoro in Tarauni Local Government Area, following credible intelligence from local vigilante groups.

He said that the suspects were apprehended with vandalised transformer cables believed to have been removed at midnight from a transformer in Hayin Da’e, Hotoro.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had been terrorising residents of Hayin Da’e, Farawa Kwanar Yashi and Hotoro Eastern Bypass through burglary, theft and vandalism of electricity installations.

“The corps has launched investigation with a view to making further arrests, while suspects have already confessed to committing the crime.

“The suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation,” he said.

Idris-Abdullahi assured that the command, under the leadership of Commandant Shafi’u Abdulmumini, would intensify surveillance and patrols to rid Kano of vandals and other criminal elements.
