•Says West African Countries Are Apprehensive Over Poll
Former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday expressed optimism that elections slated for this month and March will hold.
Assuring members of the African Democratic Alliance (ADC) who visited him in Abeokuta, Obasanjo said all necessary interventions required for the election to hold are being made by those who matter.
Obasanjo said in the last one week, he has been in some West African countries where he saw that the coming elections in Nigeria are of high importance to them.
“In the last one week, I have been in Togo and others. I can tell you that they are concerned.
“They are concerned about what happens to our election in Nigeria,” the former president told his visitors.
There are apprehensions in the country three weeks to the election as the fuel scarcity and cash swap issues continue to dominate debate.
