Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, has broken silence over the invasion of the Assembly by ousted Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.
NPO reported that Obasa had, on Thursday, staged a dramatic return to legislative house, holding plenary with four lawmakers as he maintained that he remains the Speaker.
Reacting on Friday after the hearing of the suit filed against the lawmakers by the ousted Speaker, Meranda labelled the plenary as a show of shame while condemning the invasion of her office.
“That is just a show of shame because in our job, we have numbers that forum quorum. So if you are sitting with three or four members, you are only doing theatre.” Meranda said.
Meanwhile, as against report of the restoration of her security details, the Speaker disclosed that only four out of her supposed 18-man convoy were returned.
“I have about three or four policemen. Whereas my normal convoy and my team include twelve policemen, four DSS, and two anti-bomb. But as I have it this morning, I don’t have that,” she said.
