The All Progressive Congress (APC) National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, has claimed to have received over 200 death threats in the wake of his alleged threat to the life of Labour Party’s 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Morka disclosed this on Wednesday in an interview on Arise TV Morning Show.
While reiterating that he never threatened Obi in the previous interview on the same show, the APC spokesperson disclosed that he has documented not less than 400 threatening texts with over 200 of it being death threats.
He stressed further that some of the texts, which was also extended to his family, graphically described how he will be taken out.
“As it turns out, Peter Obi’s allegation that what I spoke in that interview threatened his life, immediately, as I speak, I have documented not less than 400 threats which over 200 of it are death threats.
“These are written texts which I have carefully documented. And I’m providing it to the law enforcement agencies
“They graphically described how they intend to take me out, to shoot me, behead me, in graphic language. This is not a joke and it has gone further to some members of my family who have also been threatened directly.” He said.
Recalling the controversial interview, Morka accused Arise TV of libel as he accused the media outlet of presenting the conversation in a manner that generated the insinuation of the alleged threat.
“I, Felix Morka, did not threaten Peter Obi. Nothing I said in that interview begins to even suggest remotely that I was asking anything other than saying to the man who was asking the question.
“He said you guys were calling him prophet of doom and voodo economics. And I said no. if that is what he is called, he deserves it because he crossed the line of truth. Now I don’t by what medium or by what effort did you then transmodify that conversation into a threat yo Obi’s life and that of his family. That is libel in extreme.” Morka said.
