The 2023 Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has formally registered and pick his African Democratic Congress (ADC) membership card, ending speculations of possible return to the Labour Party ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Sequel to the ADC’s commencement of its membership registration exercise, Obi, on Saturday, arrived at Awka, Anambra state’s capital city for the exercise.
The former Anambra governor who defected to the ADC in December 2025 was officially handed his membership card following the completion of the registration.
Meanwhile, the development had again raised speculations on who the ADC presidential candidate would be, considering the presence of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, who had equally declared interest in the Presidency.
Some however maintained that Obi’s receival of the ADC membership card singaled his possible emergence as the party’s presidential candidate in 2027.
