The All Progressive Congress and the Labour Party are neck-to-neck in the battle for the soul of Lagos with the results so far released on the presidential election held on Saturday.
While the candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has won 10 local government areas, leaving 7 to his Labour Party counterpart, Mr. Peter Obi, the LP candidate has won more votes than Tinubu.
Results so far released at the collation centre in Yaba, showed that Obi is leading with 448,878 votes ahead of Tinubu’s 447,192 while their Peoples Democratic Party’s counterpart, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is coming behind with 60,330.
The candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Musa Kwankwaso, polled 6,870 votes.
While won in Agege, Apapa, Badagry, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, and Surulere, Obi won in Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Amuwo-Odofin, Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo, and Somolu.
There three local government areas being awaited.
However, one of the remaining local government areas being expected, Alimosho is believed to be a stronghold of the APC with massive voters.
