In what has put an end to all forms of speculations and guessworks, the President of the senate Godswill Akpabio Thursday noon received the authentic list of nominees for ministerial positions from President Bola Tinubu. The list was delivered to the senate by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The arrival of Gbajabiamila had caused some noise in the chamber as many hailed the arrival of the much-awaited list. Media reports have awash with speculations over those who made the list of ministerial nominations. The list was delivered almost two months after the swearing in of President Tinubu on May 29 this year. The constitution demands that the president appoints at least one minister from each of the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory. After delivering the list, the senate president is expected to read out the names and expected to fix dates for the commencement of the screening exercise.
In the list delivered to the senate, a total of 28 nominees were included suggesting that a second list will come up later. It was reported earlier that Tinubu was planning to make his appointment of ministers in batches.
