The Government of Ogun State Wednesday evening said no data was lost after hackers took over its website in the earlier hours of the day.
NPO Reported earlier that some hackers claiming to be operating in the Maldives had said they had taken over the site wiping out all uploaded site information.
In a statement titled “Website hacking: No data stolen, says Ogun govt” the government osaid there was no data breach.
The statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, said it is working to restore the website, adding that all critical data and applications are secured.
“The State ICT team is working round the clock to access and restore all the critical services,” the statement added, adding that improving on the cyber security architecture is sacrosanct.
