The All Progressives Congress Candidate for the 2027 Ogun Governorship Election, Sen. Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has threatened to institute legal action against Abayomi Hunye, a suspended member of APC, and former Nigerian ambassador to Zambia and Malawi, Folake Marcus-Bello, over the allegations surrounding his ancestry.
NPO Reported that Marcus-Bello had on Monday alleged that Adeola is not an indigene of Yewa as claimed.
The former ambassador, in an interview on Channels TV’ Lunchtime Politics, held that the father of the APC candidate hails from Ekiti State with his mother an indigene of Lagos.
Hunye also affirmed same claim during his interview with the TV station.
Reacting in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, Adeola labelled the claim of being an Ekiti State indigene libelous.
The gubernatorial candidate gave the duo 24 hours to publicly present evidence of their allegations on his state of origin or face lawsuits on their false and libelous allegations on national television that was widely circulated on other media platforms.
“I watched in utter disbelief as these characters that I hardly know utter assertive and outrageous lies about my origin without any proof.
“One falsely claimed on TV that I am from Ekiti & when asked where exactly in Ekiti went moronically blank & could not provide an answer.
