Okorocha’s Aide Slumps as Court Grants Others N5m Bail

One of the aides of former Governor Rochas Okorocha, Darlington Ibekwe, slumped in the court premises on Monday. 

This was as about 12 aides of the former Governor appeared a magistrate court over allegations that they illegally broke into a sealed property on Sunday led by Okorocha.

The former Governor himself was detained briefly at the state police command before he was released late Sunday evening.

Those who were brought before magistrates AB Adikaibe were Aide-de-camp to Okorocha, Eberendu Chiimechefulem, his legislative aide, Steve Asinuobi and 12 other aides have been granted a N5m bond bail.

Other defendants are Eberendu Chimechefulem, Ebere Nwoke, Basil MBA, Ebuka Samuel, Darlington Ibekewe, Obasi Goodluck, Nwaiwu Ndubuisi, Ekpendu Peace, Steve Anisnuobi, and Ebere Nwokeobi.

They were granted bail in the sum of N5m with additional condition to produce a traditional ruler in the state.
