Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commissioner (INEC) to remove Ondo state Residential Electoral Commissioner (REC), Oluwatoyin Babalola.
Makinde made the call on INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, while speaking at the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) campaign flag-off for its Ondo governorship candidate, Agboola Ajayi.
He claimed that the Ondo REC is an indigene of the state, raising eyebrow over fairness of the November 16 poll.
“You must remove the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Ondo state, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola. She is from Ondo state
“What you did in Edo, you can’t do it in Ondo. We will protest until she is removed. Bring another REC that will be fair and allow a levelled playing field” Makinde said.
