The Divisional Police Officer of Enu-Owa Division has been redeployed under the directive of the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, over his unprofessional handling of a recent case of the mother and daughter arrested by controversial Nigerian content creator, Adefolarin Ayomiposi, popularly known as Mandy Kiss.
NPO Reported that Mandy Kiss had last week travelled to Ondo state to arrest the mother and daughter identified as Mrs. Akinwole Sabitu and Miss Akinwole Oyindamola over alleged cyber bulling.
The duo popularly known on their TikTok handle as efo tete and honeymoon were arrested at their residence by Mandy Kiss and some of her supporters who followed her from Lagos.
The influencer who recorded the mother and daughter following their arrest also shared another video and snapshots of the suspects while in police custody at Enu-Owa Division.
As disclosed in a post shared on Instagram on Tuesday, the incident, which has generated widespread public concern, prompted a swift internal review by the Command.
Preliminary investigation revealed that no police personnel accompanied Mandy Kiss during the purported arrest.
She was reportedly aided by her internet followers, who provided information leading to the location of the suspects.
The Ondo Command declared Mandy Kiss recording of the suspects within the station premises as an act contrary to standard police procedure and inconsistent with the legal principle of presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
This act according to Lawal demonstrated a clear lapse in supervisory responsibility and professional judgment on the part of the Divisional Police Officer.
The Police Commissioner therefore directed the officer’s immediate redeployment, emphasizing that the Command will not condone any conduct capable of undermining public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
