Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has paid a courtesy visit to the state’s former Secretary General, Moshood Adeoti, at his residence in Iwo.
The governor arrived at the ex-SSG’s residence on Thursday night.
His nocturnal visit however signalled an attempt to woo Adeoti to his camp with the Accord Party.
The former Osun SSG had last month announced his withdrawal from the Omoluabi Progressive, the factional group of the Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) and now members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Adeoti, who served under the administration of the group leader and former Osun governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, cited family reason as the factor behind his exit.
However, sources had claimed he left the group due to his failure to secure the group’s support at a mini election held by the Omoluabi Progressive to determine their aspirant for the ADC’s primary election.
Meanwhile, Adeleke appeared to have visited the ex-SSG for his support as they were seen together in a video shared on Facebook.
The governor could be heard in the video telling the women, who came out to welcome him, about his relationship with Adeoti.
“We’ve been together for a long time. And you being our mothers, I believe you will support us.” He told the women in Yoruba before showcasing few dance steps as the women rendered their solidarity song.
