A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress in Osun, Chief Adedeji Gbadegesin, has told a member of the Representatives to sell a car gift he gave him during an empowerment event and give the money realized from the sale to students from the Federal constituency.
Adedeji, who was a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Osun, hails from Iwo.
The member representing Iwo Federal Constituency, Yinusa Amobi, had organized an empowerment event where party chieftains were present and handed different items ranging from cars to coolers, motorbikes, tricycles and gas cylinders.
Six chieftains of the party were said to have been penciled down to be given a Toyota Camry each.
Of the six however, the former Attorney General who is also the Asiwaju of Iwoland, openly told the federal lawmaker that he does not need the car gift.
Rather, Adedeji was said to have told the House of Representatives member to sell the car and give the money realized to the Federation of Iwo Students Union who are in three local government areas that constitute the federal constituency.
The decision of the party chieftain was said to have drawn applause from many present at the event.
It was also leant that various categories of party stalwarts went home with items such as gas cylinders, food coolers, and other items.
