Former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has given the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, moral support as he casted his vote at the ongoing local government election.
Oyinlola joined voters at his polling unit, Oba OJOMU ward 1, Okuku, Odo-Otin LGA, to exercise his franchise on Saturday.
As captured in a post shared on X, the ex-governor’s appearance aroused the crowd who chanted his name as he casted his vote.
NPO reported that Adeleke had defied the warning of the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, and the Nigerian Police Force who called for the suspension of the election.
As against the warning, voters trooped to their polling units to exercise their franchise, including the state governor who casted his vote at his polling unit in Sagba/Abogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, Ede LGA.
Addressing newsmen after voting, Adeleke held that the election has been peaceful thus far, urging all eligible voters to maintain the peace as they exercise their franchise.
