Osun State Lawmaker, Taofeek Ajilesoro, has given notice of his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as he tendered his withdrew his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The House of Representatives member representing Ife Federal Constituency, had on Tuesday tendered his resignation letter to the PDP Chairman of ward.
In what he described as a difficult decision, the lawmaker cited the internal conflict, divisions, and pervasive legal disputes within the party as reasons for his resignation from the PDP.
He expressed his gratitude to the party for the opportunity given to him while noting that the crisis in the party made it challenging for him to continue his membership.
The statement read in part; “Please accept this letter as formal notification of my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately.
“This decision, though difficult, has become necessary due to the persistent internal conflicts, deep-seated divisions, and the pervasive culture of legal disputes that have unfortunately come to characterize the party.
“These factors have made it increasingly challenging for me to reconcile my continued membership with my personal convictions and aspirations for effective governance.
“I extend my gratitude for the opportunity to have served within the party. I trust you will accept my resignation in the spirit in which it is given.”
