Political Parties in Osun state have pledged to ensure peaceful conduct before, during, and after the local government elections set to hold across the state on the 22nd of February.
The representatives of the political parties made the pledge at a meeting held with the Commissioner of Police in Osun, Mr Mohammed Abba, on Wednesday in Osogbo
This is contained in a statement made available to journalists in Osogbo by the Police Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Yemisi Opalola.
According to Opalola. the meeting was to emphasise the need for peaceful conduct of political parties before, during an after the LG elections.
“Today, CP Mohammed Abba, called on political parties in the state to discuss plans for a peaceful conduct of the forthcoming LG elections slated for February.
“The political parties have given assurance to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the election,” she said.
Opalola said that the CP was represented at the meeting by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administrations, DCP Adebisi Lateef.”
